Film Roll: The process begins with a roll of packaging film, typically made of plastic materials like polyethylene. This film roll serves as the starting point for creating the bags.
Forming Tube and Collar: The film passes through a forming tube or collar, which shapes the flat film into a cylindrical tube. This adjustable component determines the dimensions and shape of the bag to be formed.
Vertical Sealing: The edges of the film are vertically sealed using sealing bars or jaws. These elements apply heat and pressure to fuse the film together, creating a sturdy back seal for the bag.
Product Filling: Once the bag is formed and sealed at the bottom, the machine dispenses the product into the bag. Depending on the product, volumetric cups, augers, or liquid pumps can be used to measure and drop the desired quantity of the product into the bag.
Horizontal Sealing: After the product is filled, the machine seals the top of the bag horizontally. Horizontal sealing bars or jaws apply heat and pressure to create a secure and reliable seal across the bag’s opening.
Bag Cutting and Discharge: Following the completion of the horizontal sealing process, the machine cuts the bags individually or in groups, depending on the machine’s configuration. The sealed bags are then discharged from the machine, ready for further handling or packaging.
